The Chicago office of SmithGroup is looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team.

Requirements

• Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited structural, architectural, or civil engineering program with an emphasis on structural engineering by the time of the internship.
• Relevant course work in structural engineering.
• Some experience with Revit and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Work on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
• Perform basic modeling assignments in Revit and produce structural engineering documents.
• Compile data and prepare design solutions.
• Assist in editing technical specifications.
• Participate in design meetings.
• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Visit construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.
