Structural Engineering Intern - Transportation (Spring/Summer 2026)

Our Lexington, KY Transportation Structural Engineering team is looking for an Intern. Our local structural team consists of about 27 engineers, inspectors and CAD technicians.
Requirements
- Good academic standing in an accredited engineering school.
- Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail oriented, and capable of taking initiative.
- Good communication skills required.
- Candidate must be at least, or entering, junior year in undergrad.
Nice To Haves
- Goal to earn master’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Computer skills preferred: AutoCAD/Microstation, Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams, Mathcad, Acrobat/Bluebeam PDF
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in the preparation of structural construction plans and reports for various transportation and infrastructure projects, including bridges, drainage structures and others.
- Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspection.
