About The Position

We are seeking a Structural Engineer I to join our team. In this role, you will perform technical responsibilities required of a Structural Engineer, mentor less experienced engineers, and contribute to client meetings as a department representative. You will demonstrate familiarity with Valdes structural engineering work practices and prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings. Additionally, you will be expected to demonstrate familiarity and expertise in using Revit and Navisworks for 3D modeling, prepare structural scopes of work and material take-offs, and develop a refined understanding of construction drawings such as Plans, Sections, Details, and Piping Isometrics. You will also develop familiarity and expertise with prevalent structural industry codes, standards, and practices (i.e., AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Structural Engineer
  • Refined understanding of statics, dynamics, steel design, and concrete design
  • Basic technical report writing skills
  • Basic 2D and/or 3D CAD expertise
  • Basic Microsoft Office expertise
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Eligibility to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical responsibilities required of a Structural Engineer I

  • Demonstrate familiarity with Valdes structural engineering work practices
  • Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings
  • Demonstrate familiarity and expertise in using Revit and Navisworks in 3D modeling
  • Prepare structural scopes of work and material take-offs
  • Develop refined understanding of construction drawings such as Plans, Sections, Details, and Piping Isometrics
  • Develop familiarity and expertise with prevalent structural industry codes, standards and practices (i.e., AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, etc.)
  • Demonstrate understanding of client standards and specifications
  • Review steel fabricator, concrete rebar, and other vendor shop drawings and submittals
  • Perform and document simple structural calculations under the guidance of a more senior colleague
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Risa 3D, PROFIS, MathCAD, and other software commonly used in the department
  • Demonstrate continuous technical improvement and desire to sit for the structural engineer (SE) exam
  • Verify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field construction

Benefits

  • $75,000 - $105,000 a year
  • Salaries for all positions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, total years of experience in the industry, education, skills, and qualifications. Compensation may vary depending on the candidate's individual background and expertise.
