Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with structural systems including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Proficiency in structural analysis/design software and BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, RAM, ETABS, RISA).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing.
Ability to perform occasional fieldwork, including site visits and construction inspections.
Occasional lifting and carrying of field equipment or documents.
Frequent use of computers for design, documentation, and reporting.
Occasional day or overnight travel to project sites or client locations.

Responsibilities

Prepare structural design documents, drawings, calculations, and specifications under the direction of senior staff.
Assist in the design of structural systems, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Perform structural analysis using engineering software and manual calculations.
Support construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, site visits, and field observations.
Coordinate design efforts with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Contribute to quality assurance by reviewing work for accuracy and constructability.
Participate in developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules as part of the project team.
Assist senior engineers and project managers in client communications, proposals, and presentations.
Mentor junior staff and interns by sharing knowledge and reviewing work when appropriate.
Understand project schedules and budgets and complete assigned tasks in alignment with project goals.
Communicate regularly with project managers and team members about design progress.
Recognize project-specific requirements, such as permitting, accelerated schedules, or unique structural challenges.
Ensure assigned designs meet performance, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Support senior engineers and project managers in client interactions.
Represent Sebago Technics professionally when attending project meetings or site visits.
Contribute to technical presentations for clients, contractors, or review authorities.
Stay current with building codes, design practices, and engineering software.
Participate in continuing education, training, and professional associations.
Advance skills in structural analysis, BIM tools, and sustainability-focused design.
Develop communication and project coordination skills through mentorship and training opportunities.
Accurately track time, tasks, and expenses on project assignments.
Document and store design computations, reports, and project correspondence.
Support electronic and hard-copy record-keeping systems for quality assurance.
Maintain knowledge of structural engineering practices, codes, and standards.
Complete work in accordance with company policies and quality standards.
Contribute to minimizing company liability by producing accurate, code-compliant designs.
