Responsibilities Perform technical responsibilities required of a Structural Engineer II/III Mentor less experienced engineers Contribute to client meetings as department representative Demonstrate familiarity with Valdes A&E structural engineering work practices Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings Demonstrate familiarity and expertise in using Revit and Navisworks in 3D modeling Prepare structural scopes of work and material take-offs Develop a refined understanding of construction drawings such as Plans, Sections, Details, and Piping Isometrics Develop familiarity and expertise with prevalent structural industry codes, standards, and practices (i.e. AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, etc.) Demonstrate understanding of client standards and specifications Review steel fabricator, concrete rebar, and other vendor shop drawings and submittals Perform and document simple structural calculations under the guidance of a more senior colleague Demonstrate proficiency in using Risa 3D, PROFIS, MathCAD, and other software commonly used in the department Demonstrate continuous technical improvement and desire to sit for the structural engineer (SE) exam Verify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field construction Qualifications Bachelorâs Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering 3-5 years of experience working as a Structural Engineer Refined understanding of statics, dynamics, steel design, and concrete design Basic technical report writing skills Basic 2D and/or 3D CAD expertise Basic Microsoft Office expertise Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
