DLR Group has an opening for a Structural Engineer. Locations: Minneapolis, MN Position Summary As a Structural Engineer/Structural Designer at DLR Group you will be responsible for the design of structural systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of new and existing building types. As part of the integrated design team you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
  • 0-6 years of new and existing buildings structural engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Previous internship co-op experience or full time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
  • Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
  • Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, and Enercalc).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project objectives goals and documentation policies.
  • Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
  • Produce construction documents using Revit.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
  • Review shop drawings, RFI's and submittals
  • Conduct site visits when needed
  • Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.
