About The Position

STRM is partnering with an established, nationally recognized AEC firm is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its buildings-focused engineering group. This is an entry-to-mid-level role ideal for someone who enjoys technically rigorous work, values collaboration, and wants exposure across all phases of project delivery. You’ll work alongside senior engineers on a diverse portfolio of vertical building projects, gaining hands-on experience in structural analysis, design, documentation, and construction administration within an integrated design environment.

Requirements

  • BS in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
  • 2–5 years of full-time structural engineering experience within a consulting or design firm
  • Exposure to vertical building projects using steel, concrete, and masonry systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • High attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Collaborative mindset and adaptability
  • Interest in integrated design and long-term professional growth

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Internship experience a plus
  • Familiarity with IBC, ASCE, and ICC codes preferred
  • FE / EIT strongly preferred
  • PE and/or SE licensure a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis, design, and calculations for vertical building systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry framing systems.
  • Support permitting and regulatory submittals across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Utilize industry-standard analysis and design tools, including: RAM Structural System SAP2000 Enercalc
  • Develop and coordinate BIM models using Autodesk Revit Structure.
  • Assist in preparing design documentation, drawings, models, and specifications.
  • Research materials, products, building codes, and sustainable design strategies to support design decisions.
  • Collaborate with architecture, sustainability, construction, and consulting partners as part of integrated project teams.
  • Conduct site surveys and document existing conditions.
  • Support construction-phase services, including submittal reviews and site observations.
  • Participate in cross-discipline professional development and internal training programs.
  • Adapt to shifting project needs, contribute beyond assigned scope when required, and support overall team performance.
