About The Position

AECOM has a thriving, multidisciplinary Water Structural Engineering team in New Orleans and we are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join the growing team in our New Orleans office. AECOM’s Global Water Team is involved in high profile, industry leading infrastructure projects in the US and overseas, including a variety of significant projects for Local and National Governments, Water Authorities, and many other clients. We work on projects through all stages from feasibility through design, construction, operation, maintenance, and asset management. You will join a dynamic local department of high-performing engineers ranging in experience from apprentice to director level, as part of a larger Regional Water Resources Engineering team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and you will be supported as you work towards your professional development goals. Requirements

• BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineering (PE) License
• Master's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• CAD, REVIT Skills
• Knowledge of computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAFE and (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Support the Structural Department with the layout and design of hydraulic structures, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and other related structures.
• Performs work, which may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
• Independently prepare engineering related calculations.
• Review work prepared by other engineers within the department.
• Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details.
• Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/ practices. As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations.
• Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
• Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.
