Structural Designer - Engineer (Bridge and Transportation) | Maine VHB's structural engineering group plays a vital role in enhancing connectivity through infrastructure projects such as complex bridge and interchange designs, rehabilitation and inspection, pedestrian walkways, and transit stations.   • Work on major bridge and other complex transportation projects
  • Provide technical support/mentorship to junior structural engineering staff
  • Perform oversight of engineering design for bridges and other transportation infrastructure
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation experience
  • Must possess strong project management and technical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete) and seismic analysis
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software (AASHTOware, LARSA 4D, MDX, midas Bridge, Mathcad, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Bridge/Transportation projects required
  • B.S. Civil Engineering (1-2 years may be substituted for a Master’s degree)
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
