About The Position

Our Nuclear Programs is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy as well as commercial nuclear companies; we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup, production and power generation sites. We're looking for a Structural Engineer to be responsible for design projects, developing design calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques, developing drawings, and developing specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design. Your work will be supporting the Oak Ridge, TN office with some travel. The base salary range for this position is $89,400 to $185,035. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, for “remote” positions, salary to be offered is geographic dependent. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Requirements

• Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
• B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school
• 8+ years of post-education experience
• A PE or SE is required with ability to obtain a new state license as required.
• Perform Engineer of Record duties as assigned
• Design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
• Experience implementing local and national code such as IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7
• Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant
• Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
• Ability to use finite element software such as STAAD.pro (or equivalent)
• Ability to lead a small team of engineers and designers
• Competent using Microsoft Office software
• Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation software
• Experience delivering a range of projects from conceptual design through detailed design. Includes developing design calculations, numerical modeling, drawing development, specification development, and construction support
• Knowledge of nuclear codes such as DOE 1020, AISC N690, and ACI 349
• DOE Q clearance
• DOE experience
