About The Position

The Structural Engineer works collaboratively with engineering, operations, and project management teams to design, analyze, and oversee the development of structural components and systems for JE Technology Solutions’ Aircraft Ground Equipment and other manufactured products. This role ensures structural integrity, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with customer requirements, while supporting innovation, efficiency, and safety throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in using Revit, Civil 3D, BIM, BIM 360, or similar software.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and FEA tools.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis, load calculations, and design codes.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Up to 25% travel to client sites, which may include domestic and occasional international trips.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of experience in structural design or experience in the construction industry is a plus.
  • Strong experience with Solidworks 3D CAD with a structural emphasis.
  • Experience creating designs that meet project and product goals.
  • Experience sourcing hardware and materials for designs.
  • Experience in composing and authoring technical manuals and work instructions.
  • Experience with initial design/development of new products from concept through manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Local Candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel, aluminum, and composite structures used in custom aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Interpret and apply customer specifications, engineering codes, and industry standards (AISC, ASTM, AWS, ASME).
  • Conduct load analysis, stress testing, and finite element analysis (FEA) to verify product performance, safety, and compliance.
  • Create and review engineering drawings, calculations, Bills of Material (BOMs), and technical documentation using CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) in accordance with ASME standards.
  • Develop 3D parametric models, assemblies, and installation drawings that meet customer and internal requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality) to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and installation phases, including on-site support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain product schedules and manage engineering tasks throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, new product development, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of design revisions, validation activities, and project deliverables.
  • Prepare required reports and metrics as requested by management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
