Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Structural Engineer in our Portland, Oregon office. The right candidate will have experience providing structural consulting services and a background in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in designing and ensuring the structural integrity of various infrastructure projects such as pump stations, reservoirs, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.

  • Work closely with other engineers and designers as a part of the Kennedy Jenks Technical Services Team.
  • Work in concrete, steel, wood, masonry and composite construction to deliver structural solutions for projects both large and small.
  • Use BIM tools to deliver many of these projects, and to provide clients with interactive environments to provide meaningful input on projects from the initial planning stages, through design and construction.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide solutions to clients throughout the United States including municipal agencies and industrial facilities.
  • Design and analyze structures such as treatment plant buildings, tanks, clarifiers and other facilities that are a part of the water and wastewater treatment process.
  • Design and analysis of pump stations including the buildings that house pumps, piping systems and support structures.
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering focus.
  • 3+ years of experience as a consulting engineer focused on structural design for industrial or municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on structural engineering projects from conception to completion. This includes design, analysis and construction phase.
  • Deep understanding of structural design principals, codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D/BIM modeling.
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) required in the state of Oregon.
