KEM Engineers, Inc. / Bessolo Design Group, an engineering/architecture/interior design company based in St. Petersburg, FL is an award winning and highly rated Fast 50 Company by Tampa Bay Business Journal that is seeking an experienced full time licensed Structural Engineer. Structural Engineer candidates should be able to work on large Senior Living/ILF/ALF/SNF, Surgery Centers and Multifamily High-rise, both new construction and renovation. Responsibilities include management of assigned projects, assuring the total quality of all the engineering efforts of the project in meeting the client's expectations within the project budget and schedule. The Structural Engineer is responsible for the complete performance of the team assigned to each project according to Bessolo/KEM design standards, practices and policies.

  • Management of assigned projects to ensure quality engineering efforts meet client expectations.
  • Complete performance of the team assigned to each project according to design standards.
  • Analysis and design of new building structures and renovations of existing buildings.
  • Participate in project meetings during design and construction activities.
  • Lead site visits to evaluate various facility types during assessment of existing structures.
  • Review shop drawings and respond to Requests For Information (RFI).
  • Coordinate with Architecture, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
  • Florida Licensed Professional Engineer - Required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 10 years minimum experience in AE environment in Structural design.
  • Proven track record of designing appropriate structural systems within budget and time limitations.
  • Experience with calculations and computer modeling for Timber, Concrete, Masonry and Steel structures.
  • Good knowledge of building codes and design practices.
  • Experience in Commercial, Senior Living/ILF/ALF, Multifamily & High-rise; New Construction and Renovation.
  • Ability to manage projects through proper prioritization and scheduling of tasks.
  • Experience with Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) on healthcare design.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Autodesk - AutoCAD 2021.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit 2021 as it pertains to Structural Framing and Details.
  • Experience with EnerCalc (SEL), RISA 3D, RISA Floor Adapt, BLUEBEAM REVU, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
