We are actively seeking a Civil Engineer with structural focus with 4 to 6 years of experience in our Savannah, GA office. The successful new hire will design large-scale, highly complex waterfront structural engineering projects at the fastest growing container port in the United States! You will join a talented team of waterfront structural engineers and designers. The successful candidates will have well-developed technical skills and a team-oriented attitude. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required, structural focus preferred
  • A Master's degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred
  • Engineer in Training required; Professional Engineer license desired
  • 4 to 6 years of related heavy civil or waterfront experience
  • Structural design with experience or interest in learning to design ports, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, breakwater and/or shore protection structures required
  • Background in structural modeling with nonlinear elements and/or soil-structure interaction preferred
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Responsibilities

  • Complete analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, submarine systems, and other maritime projects
  • Perform structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials
  • Design of pile supported waterfront structures
  • Seismic analysis of structures including pseudo state, nonlinear and time history analysis
  • Develop plans, specifications, and calculations as needed
  • Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Calculate construction quantity estimates and assist in construction cost estimating
  • Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
  • Office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals
  • Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports
  • Prepare technical study reports and memorandums
