About The Position

Walker Consultants is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join our growing Structural Engineering team! This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-senior level professional with experience in both new design and restoration projects to make a meaningful impact. In this role, you’ll work on the structural analysis, design, and management of new construction projects while also evaluating existing structures, developing repair strategies, and overseeing restoration efforts. As part of our Pacific Northwest team, you’ll help shape skylines and preserve structures across a region known for its architectural diversity, seismic challenges, and forward-looking design standards. Your work will directly contribute to creating resilient, innovative, and lasting solutions for our clients and communities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited University, Master's degree preferred.
  • Structural Engineering (SE) licensure required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to the preparation of project documents, schedules, and budgets.
  • Perform structural modeling, analysis, and design for gravity and lateral systems in concrete, masonry, and steel structures.
  • Conduct field investigations, condition appraisals, and testing of existing buildings to identify deficiencies, deterioration, or failures.
  • Review and critique plans, specifications, calculations, and shop drawings prepared by others.
  • Visit construction sites to observe progress, prepare field reports, and respond to design-related questions.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring compliance with requirements, budgets, and procedural standards.
  • Mentor and coordinate engineers, design staff, and technical personnel, supporting training and professional development.
  • Develop repair strategies, restoration schemes, and technical recommendations.
  • Build and maintain client relationships; promote Walker’s consulting services to new and existing clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
