About The Position

This is a hybrid position based in Perrysburg, Ohio. Schedule is flexible. We are seeking a Structural Engineering Leader to support civil and structural design efforts for furnace rebuilds and related capital projects across glass container manufacturing facilities in North America. This role plays a critical part in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective engineering solutions while partnering closely with internal teams and external engineering firms. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to lead complex projects from concept through execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited program required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of structural design experience
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis fundamentals, including gravity systems and lateral force-resisting systems (wind and seismic)
  • Experience with structural materials and design methods, including: Structural steel Reinforced and unreinforced concrete Load-bearing and non-load-bearing masonry
  • Familiarity with U.S. building codes and structural standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis tools such as RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, and TEDDS
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain, preferred
  • Project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, including design development and drawing review processes
  • Ensure designs meet all applicable engineering codes, standards, and permitting requirements, with consideration for the unique demands of glass manufacturing environments
  • Design structural systems and components, including furnace supports, equipment foundations, building modifications, and site infrastructure (roadways, drainage, rail, and security structures)
  • Partner with project managers and engineering teams to develop complete construction packages, including scopes of work, cost estimates, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Lead and coordinate third-party engineering firms to ensure deliverables align with project scope, timelines, and quality expectations
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Facilitate collaboration across engineering, procurement, and construction teams to support on-time, on-budget project delivery
  • Identify and resolve design challenges through effective cross-functional communication
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, design guides, and best practices
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities and vendor sites as needed to support project execution
