About The Position

Pioneering Evolution is seeking a senior-level Structural Engineer IV to support advanced naval and defense programs. This role focuses on performing complex engineering analyses, design studies, and structural evaluations in support of Research & Development (R&D), Test & Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep structural engineering expertise with experience supporting Navy shipbuilding and defense systems programs and thrives in highly technical, mission-driven environments. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and validation of UxV and maritime systems to ensure structural integrity, performance compliance, and mission readiness.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional engineering experience (15+ years preferred).
  • Extensive experience supporting R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.
  • Strong background in structural analysis related to Navy shipbuilding and defense systems programs.
  • Demonstrated experience producing detailed technical documentation and Objective Quality Evidence.
  • Experience evaluating structural stability, strength, rigidity, and material performance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analyses of customer mission and performance requirements to define UxV attributes in engineering terms.
  • Conduct engineering studies to allocate UxV attributes to systems in terms of design direction, performance, configuration, space, weight, and arrangement.
  • Perform design and integration studies to determine the degree of UxV systems integration required to meet mission objectives.
  • Develop Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) including technical drawings, conceptual and product engineering designs, calculations, schematics, and formal reports.
  • Ensure structures can withstand operational stress and environmental pressures through rigorous structural analysis and material evaluation.
  • Calculate stability, strength, and rigidity requirements to support shipbuilding and defense programs.
  • Select appropriate materials and structural configurations to meet safety, durability, and performance requirements.
  • Support R&D, T&E, and acquisition program milestones through technical documentation and engineering recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure structural solutions align with overall system design and mission performance objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of program reviews, risk assessments, and engineering validation activities.
