About The Position

The Structural Engineer Intern will work with architects and other engineers to design new structural framing and foundations for architectural and industrial facilities and assess existing buildings and design modification of existing structures. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Communication and time management skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including multi-disciplined design teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Revit and/or RISA is preferred.
  • Industry experience in the following is preferred:
  • Design of building projects from the initial concept through construction documents
  • Assessment of and Design modification to existing buildings.
  • Construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design of structural systems to meet load and serviceability requirements as well as architectural design.
  • Evaluate structural deficiencies and provide rationale solutions.
  • Work with REVIT technicians to develop structural plans and details.
  • Edit structural specifications.
  • Perform construction phase services: review shop drawings and submittals, respond to contractor’s requests for information, perform site visits, and write observation/field reports.
