About The Position

As a professional bridge engineer you will play an important role in bridge design and load rating or other structural design for a wide variety of clients including cities, counties, states, and private entities. You will use fundamental engineering principles to provide our clients with efficient designs focused on quality. Projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budgets. While bridge projects are expected to make up the majority of your work, you will also be required to provide structural design, analysis, and project management for retaining walls, hydraulic structures, and other structures. Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received. You will train EITs.

Requirements

• MS/ME degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
• 1-5 years of work experience in bridge and related structural design post PE.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or ability to get licensed by comity.
• Familiarity with TxDOT bridge design documents and procedures.
• Experience with LRFD design procedures and bridge design software.
• Proven experience in preparing bridge plan sets and developing structural details.
• Excellent engineering judgment and technical skills.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in steel bridge design.
• Experience in post-tensioned bent caps/column design.

Responsibilities

• Play an important role in bridge design and load rating.
