About The Position

Structural Dynamics Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Integrated Design Engineering (IDE) organization is seeking a highly motivated Structural Dynamics Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join the Space and Launch Satellite Engineering team located in El Segundo, CA. This candidate will be a part of a high-performing engineering team that is immersed in development, verification, and validation of dynamic loads. The candidate will assist in defining mechanical system requirements and developing test plans for hardware (including full spacecraft). This role will include accountability for Satellite Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineering across Government and Commercial Satellite Programs. The candidate should have a background in mechanical systems design and analysis. The candidate must exemplify the Boeing Values in day-to-day operations. The structural dynamics team provides engineering support on a variety of IDE products. This position offers the opportunity to be hands-on with flight hardware. This role will include accountability for structural dynamics engineering team across Government and Commercial Satellite Programs. Ideal candidate should have structural dynamics testing and structural analysis experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Post-Start is required
  • 3+ years of related work experience years in loads and dynamics analysis within aerospace or related industries
  • Strong understanding of structural dynamics and loads analysis principles
  • Proficiency with relevant analysis tools and software (e.g., NASTRAN, MATLAB)
  • Experience with finite element modeling and structural analysis
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications, standards, and regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills for technical reporting and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical system loads requirements using MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN and/or other analysis methods, provide product definition to other engineering groups, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support test of spacecraft mechanical systems products to validate and verify systems and components that meet requirements and specifications
  • Perform anomaly investigation of structural dynamics tests
  • Support work for multiple program(s) or product line(s) of spacecraft to meet product lifecycle milestones
  • Document requirements and objectives in support of product qualification and delivery
  • Support project planning and ensure execution on program commitments
  • Evaluate test data to validate components and systems against design requirements and objectives
  • Contribute to design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
