Structural Drafter This Opportunity POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently initiating a search for a Structural Drafter for our Lake Oswego, OR office. Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. Under general to minimal supervision, provides technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications for use in substation design. Tasks may include generating CADD designs on various assigned projects of basic complexity. Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables, including plans, sections, details, and material lists. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry and client standards for design, accuracy, and functionality. Your Impact Under general supervision, assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the job site, surveys, schematic designs, technical drawings, and other matrices to support drafting and design activities. Under general supervision, use 2D and/or 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to produce basic design details and prepare drawings. Assist with verifying calculations, design, and interpretation of plans, and escalating any issues or technical problems for appropriate resolution. Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. Assure plans adhere to client and WSP standards. Knowledge of industry standard concrete, rebar, and structural steel detailing practices. Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by the engineer. Ensure dimensions, materials, and quality for assigned projects meet the contract requirements. Work collaboratively with the engineer-in-charge and other technical professionals on assigned tasks. Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with other team members Complete training on assigned tasks. Exhibit basic knowledge of current drafting and design support practices. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
