About The Position

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is a full-service structural engineering firm established in 1993. We're looking for a Structural Drafter to join our team of experts onsite in Tampa (Temple Terrace). Requirements

  • 3-5 years of building design experience utilizing Revit required.
  • Working experience or degree in related discipline (Design/Drafting, Computer Aided Design/Drafting, BIM technician, Civil Engineering, etc.)
  • Working understanding within Revit of the creation and use of families, symbols, detail components, line styles, parameters, view templates, and filters
  • Detail-oriented mindset with an understanding of the importance of clear, concise, and consistent model creation and drawing documentation
  • Reliably deliver excellent construction documents using verbal or written descriptions, with detailed instruction or redlines
  • This is an in-office position

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with team members and other design disciplines to create 3D design models and 2D drawings
  • Effectively coordinate with architectural drawings and follow engineering instruction, industry guidelines, and RAE standards
  • Produce preliminary foundation and framing plans with verbal, written or detailed redlines
  • Assemble structural drawings using details and charts selected by Project Engineer
  • Clearly annotate, dimension, and detail 2D production drawings
  • Assist the structural engineering project lead with the management of the BIM workflow
  • Monitor work progress, anticipate changes or issues, and inform appropriate team members
  • Visit job sites with team members to take field measurements, document existing structural framing, site observation and/or drawing coordination, as required
