About The Position
The position involves following all safety rules and procedures while engaging in teamwork efforts to meet all goals. The role requires producing samples and small production runs of prototypes on the CAD table for testing purposes, writing and transmitting specifications as requested, and improving existing packaging with innovative solutions. This includes customer site visits and the ability to perform packaging audits at their location. The individual will coordinate with tooling suppliers, review information, and order cutting dies, printing plates, labels, and preprints on new items. Travel with sales representatives to customer locations may be required. The role also involves developing strong internal working relationships to support and promote efficient and accurate responses to customers, sales, and operations departments. Additional responsibilities include assisting with routine lab functions, handling daily graphics projects as dictated by customers and the plant, developing advanced graphic design skills through on-the-job training, and assisting sales representatives in the absence of the design manager. The individual will perform tooling verification of new products, handle all requirements of preprint and labels, obtain quotes on tooling, and place orders for printing plates, cutting dies, labels, and preprints to supply production with needed materials. The role also includes assisting with production special requests or problem tooling and performing necessary activities to help maintain the functions of the design department, including making graphic mock-up samples as requested by customers.
