Your Opportunity The role of a Structural EIT is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural EIT will be able to perform structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
  • Basic understanding of Revit, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool
  • Thorough understanding of structural engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs and other similar materials
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit and AutoCAD
  • Finite Element Analysis Software such as RISA and SAP
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and combination of work related is required.
  • NCEES EIT.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of architects, engineers, and owner clients effectively.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of structural building codes and requirements.
  • Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
  • Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under Senior Engineer's guidance.
  • Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
  • Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients.
  • Understand industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.
  • Assist with development of design standards.
