About The Position

As a Manager, Structural Engineering P.E. at BW Design Group, you will join a team of over 1500 professionals across 45 offices in the US. This role involves working closely with clients to address their most challenging problems in the architecture and engineering sectors, particularly in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial manufacturing facilities. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, leading the development of structural design documents and ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered consistently. The position emphasizes mentorship, client development, and strategic project implementation, fostering an environment that supports professional growth and fulfillment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of twelve years of architecture/engineering facilities structural design experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a structural engineering design manager (preferred).
  • Experience in the analysis and design of structures with an emphasis on seismic design.
  • Hands-on experience with structural engineering software such as ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP, Mathcad, and ENERCALC.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT (preferred).
  • Detailed knowledge of building codes and seismic requirements.
  • Ability to present designs to clients.
  • Ability to lead a structural engineering design team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Solid written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for project requirements.
  • A bachelor of science in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • A professional engineer (PE) license is required; SE license preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in structural engineering or engineering management (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design and construction documents for new structures and structural upgrades.
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in developing structural design documents for all project phases.
  • Develop strong relationships within the region and the Architecture, Engineering, and Process Practice.
  • Assume responsibility for client development, project profiles, and organizational planning.
  • Mentor and develop BW Design Group professionals.
  • Develop new Structural Engineering engagements and search for new value propositions.
