About The Position

We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student for a paid summer internship in the summer of 2026. The summer internship is typically 12 weeks in length beginning on or before June 1, 2026 through mid-August (depending on your schedule). HGA is a full-service planning and design firm of over 1,000 professionals offering planning, engineering, architecture and interior design services in 12 offices. Our nationally recognized, integrated team of experts brings a highly collaborative and transparent approach that ensures the success of clients’ projects. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Currently in their junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software.
  • Design and analysis of steel and reinforced concrete structures.

Responsibilities

  • Have exposure to a variety of engineering experiences while working on real-world projects.
  • Perform structural engineering design calculations.
  • Research code issues.
  • Analyze reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work.
  • Use analysis and design software.
  • Collaborate with project team members to complete work.
  • Visit construction sites for information gathering and observations.
