About The Position

Structural Assembler in Training is an entry level position. On-the-job training will be provided to learn how to fabricate and assemble aircraft control surfaces. Inspects assemblies, mating and installation of parts, equipment for alignment, fit, clearance, torque, and related factors. $2,000 Sign-on Bonus until further notice

Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude: Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment to perform assembly, installation, fabrication and rework tasks on metal aircraft components
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
  • Technical skills: Possesses necessary skills and knowledge; provides accurate, neat, and thorough work; pursues training and professional development; and exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills with fabrication, fabricating parts per engineering drawing requirements.
  • Knowledge of job related hand tools and proper usage.
  • Experience with drilling, countersinking, installing solid and blind rivets using rivet guns, bucking bars and pneumatic squeezers.
  • Learn to use and recognize the necessary tools needed to perform the necessary installation of the required hardware.
  • Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, production illustrations and other specifications to determine the identity, location and relationship of aircraft parts.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team.
  • Ensures that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
  • Applies the 6S principle (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety).
  • Wears proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions.
  • Complies with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties.
  • May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Department Supervisor, Line Manager, or appropriate designee
