Honeybee Robotics is seeking a Structural Analyst III/IV to join our growing Motion Control team! In this role, you'll be responsible for performing structural analyses for space electro-mechanical systems using various analytical methods such as hand calculations and finite element methods with standard industry programs. You'll work closely with design teams to provide support from concept development to product implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline with 6+ years of experience performing structural analysis or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of elasticity, plasticity, and failure in engineering material/structures
  • Fundamental knowledge of structural statics/dynamics, including PSD, SRS, Miles Equation, fatigue damage, static/dynamic equilibrium, stress/strain/modulus, bending/shear/axial force development, etc.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software
  • Experience with metallic materials
  • Ability to write technical reports and present results to a multi-disciplined team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural analysis on various designs and materials, including composites and metals
  • Manipulate large-scale finite element models that support internal loads development
  • Interpret analytical results to support testing and design optimization of electro-mechanical systems
  • Produce engineering documentations, reports, and manipulate technical data from hardware testing
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing, and technical management to communicate design issues and develop solutions
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in projects, handling highly complex issues and problems
