About The Position

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. Specifically, this role would be supporting the development and introduction of a new upper stage for the New Glenn vehicle. As part of a small, hardworking, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the structural analysis of the fluid systems and components for this stage. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to work collaboratively as an integral part of a world class design, development, and product launch team. Requirements

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in the structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems including valves, tubing/piping, pressure vessels
  • Experience with ANSYS including structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module preferred)
  • Experience overseeing, reviewing, or approving other analyst's work
  • Experience with fatigue analysis

Responsibilities

  • Conducting structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, test fixtures, etc.
  • Providing technical guidance, oversight, and analysis review/approval for designers and other analysts completing structural analysis
  • Review supplier analyses of COTS valves, supporting qualification efforts
  • Maintain and report on work tasks, schedule, and technical status
