About The Position

A Structural Analysis Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Seal Beach, CA. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in the engineering field, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of experience analyzing airframe structure.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience performing aerospace structural analysis
  • Deep and fundamental understanding of aircraft structures analysis, manufacturing processes, and materials
  • Experience with initial structural sizing and detail structural analysis for both metallic and composite materials
  • Proficiency in classical static stress analysis and allowables determination
  • Expertise in linear static finite element modeling and analysis
  • Expertise with Microsoft office tools
  • Experience with Boeing analysis toolsets (IAS, CSW, FEADMS, FAMOSS, MOSS Duberg, IDTAS, DTANL, SA)
  • Proficiency in fatigue analysis
  • Damage tolerance analysis experience
  • Previous Boeing analysis experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Boeing composite structural analysis methods and allowables determination preferred
  • Experience with MSC PATRAN and NASTRAN preferred
  • Experience leading a structural analysis team preferred
  • Experience developing structural approaches in novel situations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Static and fatigue structural analysis for aircraft primary structure
  • Perform detailed sizing and static stress evaluation of parts and assemblies
  • Extract and utilize finite element analysis internal loads data
  • Produce and evaluate finite element models to support sizing and structural analysis
  • Produce, review and critique structural analysis substantiation Strength Check Notes/Reports
  • Ensure work packages conform to the technical work statement scope, schedule and quality
  • Work independently or in teams to evaluate design sufficiency and improve analysis processes
  • Effectively present (oral and written) engineering requirements and results
  • Provide technical and operational leadership at the task-group or IPT (integrated product team) level
  • Work effectively in an IPT environment and across facilities and groups
