Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking a Mid-Level or Lead Structural Analysis Engineer to become part of the F-22 Air Vehicle Structures Team in Berkeley, MO. The Air Vehicle Structures Team is looking for an experienced analyst who is proficient in structural analysis methods and best practices to include load paths, statics, classical hand calculation analysis and display a working knowledge in fatigue and fracture mechanics in support of tactical fighter programs. The candidate should possess strong structural analysis skills and be proficient with classical solutions, in addition to finite element solutions. Experience with composites and performing stress analysis using Finite Element Modeling and classical hand methods is preferred. The candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work with little oversight. Must be able to plan and execute tasks within constraints imposed by internal and external customer schedules. Strong leadership skills, experience leading projects, and experience with mentoring and teaching is highly desirable.

  • Verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate that customer and regulatory agency requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Works under minimal direction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Aeronautical/ Aerospace/ Astronautical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Structural Stress Analysis.
  • Experience using Hypermesh, NASTRAN, or StressCheck.
  • Experience working on MRB (Materials Review Board) activities related to aircraft structures.
  • Experience in a military aircraft sustainment environment, particularly for USAF platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience working structural analysis on aerospace products.
  • 5+ years of experience with structural analysis on military aerospace products.
  • 5+ years of Experience using Hypermesh, NASTRAN, or StressCheck.
  • 5+ Experience working on MRB (Materials Review Board) activities related to aircraft structures.
  • Experience with material testing and test plan development.
  • Experience with computer programming.

  • Current active US Government Secret Clearance.
