Structural Analysis Engineer - Level 2 (Associate) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Structural Analysis Engineer – Level 2 (Associate) to join the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B) Structures Capability Engineering team located in Tukwila, Washington . A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the MS&B programs. Position Responsibilities: Performs basic structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools, to support drawing release and limited support to the Manufacturing Review Board process. Develops complex structural math models and performs analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity. Performs basic structural analysis to support response to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation and regulatory agency coordination. Performs structural analysis to support trade studies and configuration development. Creates strength check notes to document analysis. Provides inputs to formal documentation, to show compliance with Boeing, customer and regulatory requirements. Develops and supports in-house software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks. Assists in the research and preparation of data, to support definition of structural design requirements. Works under general supervision. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Tukwila, Washington . This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 2 or more years of experience in structural analysis
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
  • Experience with Aircraft Primary and/or Secondary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
