Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for Structural Analysis Engineers/Principal Structural Engineers (levels 2 and 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Positions are located onsite in Melbourne, Florida.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 0 years’ experience.
  • For Principal Structural Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis; or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years’ experience.
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Structural Analysis Experience in any of the following areas: Airframe, Crew Systems, Subsystems, and/or Structural Integrity.
  • Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Performing static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program.
  • Ensuring that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives.
  • Deriving non-flight applied loads, creating, extracting, and distributing internal loads and performing weight and stiffness optimization utilizing tools such as FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications.
  • Collaborating in a team environment, prioritizing and adjusting tasks to accomplish the project result, and comprehending and analyzing complex problems to develop solutions.
