Requirements

  • Valid 6GR welding certification (current certification required)
  • MUST pass 6GR welding test
  • Minimum 2-3 years of structural welding experience
  • Proficiency in SMAW (Stick), FCAW, and/or GMAW welding processes
  • Ability to pass welding tests as required by project specifications
  • Strong understanding of welding safety practices and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding procedures
  • Physical ability to work in various positions and conditions
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications (ASME, AWS, or API certifications)
  • Perform structural welding using Flux Core (FCAW) in the 6GR position
  • Experience with structural steel, pressure vessels, or piping systems
  • Experience in industrial, petrochemical, or refinery environments
  • Familiarity with X-ray and ultrasonic testing procedures
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural welding operations in 6GR (6G position with restrictions) certification
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
  • Prepare materials and work areas for welding operations
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper functionality
  • Conduct quality inspections of completed welds
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
  • Complete welding documentation and reports as required
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople on project requirements
