About The Position

The H-47 Chinook Airframes team is seeking an Experienced / Lead Structural & Payload Design Engineer to join our team in Ridley Park PA. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle: conceptualizing new designs, creating and releasing detailed engineering for both new customer platform variants as well as current in production variants, supporting factory production and suppliers with engineering updates. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of H-47 engineering, stress, mechanical systems, electrical systems, production engineering, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 3+ years’ experience in Aircraft Design / Aircraft Structures
  • 3+ years’ experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
  • 3+ years' experience leading or managing projects and teams
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Oversees supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
