About The Position

Assists customers with merchandise questions. Completes sales transactions maintains displays according to merchandizing standards. Operates cash register and prepares all shift opening and closing duties.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year job-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Retail experience preferred.
Mescalero Apache Tribal preference; bicultural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Enters merchandise category and price in Micros computer
Makes change and issues receipts or tickets to customers for all purchases
Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions per shift, as directed by department policies and procedures
Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand
Provides customer service in retail store to all customers at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, quoting prices and describing features of items to customers, whenever requested
Issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise
Assists gift shop supervisors in maintaining inventory records for store merchandise
Assists gift shop supervisors in setting up and maintaining all store displays
Performs other duties as required
