About The Position
The Stroke Nurse Navigator is a registered nurse who functions to improve the care of the neurosurgical patient, stroke patient and provides support to the neuro-science service line. This role encompasses practice and education for the coordination of the multidisciplinary needs of the patient and their family for the duration of their hospitalization and post discharge phase.
Requirements
- Graduate of Nursing Program. BSN or higher preferred.
- Three years experience in critical care nursing and two years experience in neurological and neurosurgical services.
- Ability to deal effectively and problem solve with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff.
- Valid CA RN license required.
- Current American Heart Association BLS card and ACLS required.
- As appropriate for clinical area.
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
