About The Position

This role is within a well-established, community-focused healthcare system serving the Renton area. The organization is recognized for delivering high-quality acute and inpatient care and maintains strong clinical ties with a reputable regional medical center (specific facility details intentionally withheld). The stroke and neuroscience program provides comprehensive care for patients with acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, and other neurological emergencies. The program emphasizes rapid assessment, evidence-based treatment, coordinated inpatient care, and post-acute planning. Providers work in a highly collaborative environment alongside neurologists, hospitalists, nursing teams, and rehabilitation services. The organization is seeking a Stroke Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join its inpatient stroke and neurology team in the Renton, WA region. This full-time, permanent position involves providing acute stroke care, inpatient management, and coordination of services throughout hospitalization. The APP will play a key role in stroke alerts, daily rounding, care transitions, and quality initiatives within a well-supported, team-based stroke program. Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • National certification as a PA or NP
  • Eligible for Washington state licensure
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Stroke, neurology, inpatient, or critical care experience preferred
  • Prior stroke or inpatient neurology experience preferred
  • Open to motivated new graduates with strong clinical foundations

Responsibilities

  • Participate in acute stroke evaluations, including stroke alerts and rapid assessments
  • Assist with diagnosis, treatment planning, and inpatient management of stroke patients
  • Perform daily rounds and coordinate care with neurology, hospitalist, and nursing teams
  • Support thrombolytic and post-intervention care per established protocols
  • Educate patients and families on stroke diagnosis, treatment, and secondary prevention
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
  • Participate in stroke quality metrics, performance improvement, and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Support safe discharge planning and coordination with rehabilitation services
