Founded in 1892, Hines operates multiple locations throughout Illinois, including millwork, wall panel and truss manufacturing facilities, providing specialty building products to customers in Chicagoland and across Illinois, lower Wisconsin and Northern Indiana. . The Striker / Stocker has the opportunity to learn the building materials business and our branch operation by supporting drivers with deliveries, working in the warehouse, and receiving, loading and unloading material in the yard and delivery site. What you will do • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follow all safety procedures; maintain a safe and clean environment. • Pull, stage, and load orders onto outgoing trucks and at customer site as directed. • Aid Driver in inspecting materials scheduled for delivery to confirm that the shipment is correct and that it is properly loaded and secured. • Ride with the driver to the job site to unload product at jobsite. • Assist driver in evaluating delivery site, noting potential hazards, obstacles, physical challenges, etc.; guide driver in maneuvering onto and off customer’s property to avoid damage as needed. • Handle materials off conveyor and stack material as directed. • Support driver in maintaining a clean and safe vehicle. • Assist warehouse associates and direct supervisor in maintaining a safe and organized work environment. • Receive in-coming products, commodities and materials; stock all material received in appropriate bins or storage locations. • Operate forklift with foot and hand controls in a safe manner to complete orders onto delivery equipment. • Treat customers, contractors, and associates in a courteous, considerate, and cooperative manner. • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results. • Participate in a positive work environment. • Provide excellent customer service. • Participate in and complete assigned trainings. • Comply with all company policies and guidelines.
