As a Stress Analyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades, preliminary and detailed design/analysis activities.

Requirements

  • Experience with NX/Nastran, Abaqus finite element modeling or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and applicable experience with aerospace structural analysis methods, including classical hand calculations or experience with mechanical joints
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience
  • Must be a US Citizen, and hold the ability to obtain and hold a Secret clearance

  • A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
  • Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis
  • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
  • Non-linear, fracture & fatigue, and buckling analysis experience
  • Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience
  • Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock test experience of aerospace flight hardware
  • Experience with additive manufacturing
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Performing stress analysis using finite element analysis methodologies, classical hand calculations, and relevant digital tools (ie: Matlab, Mathcad etc.)
  • Generating stress analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews
  • Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts
  • Supporting structural test definition, requirements development, on-site test support, data reduction, and data correlation
  • Collaborating with design engineers in developing the most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility.
