About The Position

The California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking a qualified candidate for a faculty position in the School of Social Work. The mission of the School is to provide professional social work education and advance social work knowledge that inspires critical thinking and lifelong learning among students who will serve in diverse social work practice areas and roles. The position involves providing practicum instruction to BASW and MSW student interns, ensuring their development aligns with educational standards, and maintaining collaborative communication with key stakeholders. The role also includes administrative oversight of the SYR program, managing budgets, and completing reports for stakeholders. Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited university.
  • At least two years post-master's experience in social work practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with children, youth, and families.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population.
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership and program development capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in writing, reading, and speaking Spanish.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) active license.
  • Demonstrated training experience in community-based social work.
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to build coalitions and engage in teamwork development.
  • Knowledge of community resources supporting families and children in the Greater Long Beach area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Practicum instruction to BASW and MSW student interns assigned to the collaborative SYR program.
  • Ensure intern development and progression in alignment with educational competencies.
  • Provide site-based supervision and consultation at select locations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative communication with key stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative oversight for the SYR program, including budget management.
  • Complete reports for stakeholders and present information on the SYR program.
  • Schedule interviews with prospective interns and manage Practicum Education paperwork.
  • Partner with an evaluation team to gather data and complete evaluation reports.
