About The Position

Butler University seeks a strength and conditioning coach to lead, manage, and
supervise the daily strength and conditioning operations for Men’s Basketball.
The strength and conditioning coach assists the head coach in providing
leadership and support for the vision and strategies of Butler’s Men’s
Basketball Program.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree required
• NSCA or CSCCA certification required
• Ability to work flexible hours required
• Ability to teach Olympic lifts, sprint techniques, lift 100 pounds and safely spot athletes on squats and presses required
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I, Big East and Pioneer Football League rules and regulations
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff members
• Outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills
• Ability to organize, multi-task, and collaborate at a high level with a diverse group of individuals
• Computer skills in Word and Excel required

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary program lead for all Football and Men’s Soccer strength and conditioning development and strategic planning
• Mentor, guide, and lead strength and conditioning for Men’s Basketball
• Assist with the coaching and teaching of training programs for 20 teams and 400 student-athletes; expertise includes strength development, cardiovascular development, team conditioning, speed development, flexibility development, injury prevention, rehabilitation of injured student-athletes, nutrition and supplement education
• Build a year-round, periodized training program for Men’s Basketball, maintain progress records for evaluation of success of the program
• Collaborates with other Strength and Conditioning Coach regarding FY budgeting for equipment and resources
• Help build a positive culture through collaboration with weight room staff, athletic trainers, sport coaches, student-athletes, and other athletic personnel
• Other duties as assigned
