About The Position

Bering Global Solutions is seeking full-time Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coaches to support the US Air Force at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona. The role involves preparing USAF pilots for the physical demands of flying operations through various coaching and training activities. S&C coaches will engage in programming, fitness assessments, and teaching S&C academics, while maintaining high standards of conduct and effective communication with trainees and military leadership.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree in accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline
  • Current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • 2+ years of tactical, collegiate, professional, and/or Olympic athlete strength and conditioning experience
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers with AED certification
  • U.S. citizen
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively with Airmen and staff
  • Ability to pass and maintain Tier 1 clearance
  • Demonstrate sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills, and social sensitivity

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Health and Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
  • Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC)
  • NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F)
  • Functional Range Systems FRCms or Kinstretch
  • CrossFit Level 2 or higher
  • Ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate persistent and effective coaching presence and attitude
  • Identify points of performance and common movement faults
  • Provide effective tactile, verbal, and visual cueing
  • Maintain personal fitness and demonstrate quality movement
  • Teach and demonstrate S&C fundamentals
  • Conduct S&C assessments
  • Design and update training programs and curriculum
  • Teach traditional classroom blocks of instruction related to health, fitness, and physical performance
  • Utilize human performance technology to inform programming and assess athletic performance
  • Evaluate and provide written professional assessments on emerging technology
  • Build rapport with students and motivate them to achieve higher levels of performance
  • Participate in staff training, scheduling, and other meetings to support the program
  • Effectively work with frequent changes, interruptions, and varying environmental conditions
  • Maintain strong communication (written and oral), leadership and organizational skills
  • Follow and apply designated AF training and safety directives and guidelines
  • Maintain all professional credentials and licensure
