About The Position

The Streets & Stormwater Serviceperson I position at the Town of Steilacoom involves performing various outdoor maintenance tasks related to streets and stormwater management. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License Combination Class: B with tanker endorsement.
• Good driving record and ability to comply with random drug and alcohol testing.
• Washington Industrial First Aid Certification and CPR Certification.
• Ability to obtain a Washington State Flagging Card.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs streets, sidewalks, and right of ways including snow/ice control, asphalt patching, and vegetation management.
• Maintains, installs, and repairs the Town's storm drain system, including mains, culverts, and catch basins.
• Operates various heavy equipment such as backhoes and dump trucks safely and efficiently.
• Repairs and maintains traffic control devices according to MUTCD standards.
• Responds to callouts and emergencies as required.
• Maintains compliance with vehicle and equipment use requirements.
• Provides support to town customers, citizens, and coworkers.
• Assists other departments such as electric, water, sewer, and parks as needed.
