About The Position

New York City FC is seeking energetic, outgoing, and passionate individuals to join our Events & Fan Experience team. This role plays a critical part in promoting the New York City FC brand, creating unforgettable fan experiences, and engaging with our community across New York City and beyond. As a Street Team Member, you will represent New York City FC at community events, partner activations, and home matches, with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Requirements

Comfort speaking to and engaging large crowds
Ability to stand and remain active on their feet for extended periods
Outgoing, energetic, quick-thinking personality; comfortable being on camera as needed
Knowledge of New York City FC, its brand, team, and core fan demographic
Ability to positively engage with guests of all backgrounds
Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
Excellent communication skills
Flexible availability, including mornings, nights, weekends and matchdays. (4-hour minimum shifts)
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
Ability to drive team vehicle to and from events
Must have access to a personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation to get to and from events
Must be able to commute throughout NYC, including Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, and the training facility in Orangeburg, NY as needed
1–3 years of experience in a brand ambassador, street team, or entertainment role
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Must comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policies and all applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by New York City FC
Availability to work 1–3 events per week, including matchdays and throughout the summer during the FIFA World Cup
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in multiple languages preferred not required
Ability to perform soccer skills/tricks, dance or entertainment background is not required but a bonus Personalities welcome

Responsibilities

Promote marketing initiatives while growing an engaged and loyal fanbase
Build authentic connections with fans and deliver best-in-class fan experiences
Assist with the execution of New York City FC events from start to finish, including: Load-in and load-out
Coordinating games, activities, contests, and sweepstakes
Setting up and breaking down equipment (tents, tables, sound systems, inflatable games, etc.)
Represent the New York City FC brand in a positive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable manner
Support tentpole marketing events, community initiatives, and partner activations
Engage with fans and encourage sign-ups for New York City FC email and text communications (data capture)
Operate and maintain team vehicles to transport equipment to and from events
Act as a brand ambassador for New York City FC and its partners as needed
Assist with local community events and partner activations
Occasionally serve as an assistant to the club mascot character to enhance entertainment, including escorting the mascot, communicating on their behalf, and providing performer support and security in public places
Proven leaders may assist the Events & Match Presentation team during home matches, including on-field ceremonies, stadium activations and other duties as needed
