Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform unskilled and semi-skilled manual work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of streets, curbs, pavement, signs, structures, islands, culverts, alleys, and ditches.
  • Maintain City trees and pour and finish concrete.
  • Operate a variety of power-driven tools and equipment, including trucks, skip loaders, light rollers, and backhoes.
  • Patch streets and alleys using hand tools and assist in paving operations.
  • Construct and repair curbs and gutters by excavating and pouring concrete.
  • Place traffic control and warning signs and serve as a flagman.
  • Clean storm drains, drainage ditches, and culverts.
  • Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on equipment and conduct preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Lift and move objects and materials, such as dirt and concrete, using a wheelbarrow.
  • Load, transport, and unload stones, gravel, dirt, supplies, and equipment as required.
