About The Position

The Street Maintenance Worker positions are responsible for the effective maintenance and repair of city streets, parking lots, drainage facilities, and rights-of-way according to established quality standards and procedures. The positions range from entry-level to advanced roles, with increasing responsibilities and requirements for experience and skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of materials used in street maintenance operations.
• Ability to work safely and take initiative.
• Ability to work after hours and on weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in maintenance and repair of city streets and drainage facilities.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• General knowledge of principles of supervision, training, and evaluating employee performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of city streets, parking lots, drainage facilities, and rights-of-way.
• Operate hand tools and equipment used in street maintenance.
• Handle traffic safely in construction and maintenance areas.
• Troubleshoot equipment to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Lift up to 90 lbs as required.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees and the public.
