About The Position

This summer, One River School is looking for art teachers and practicing artists with street art and spray-painting experience to lead an exciting Street Art Studio program for students Grades 3–12. If you love the expressive energy of street art, murals, stencil work, and aerosol techniques, and want to share those skills with young artists in a safe, supportive studio environment, this is an opportunity to bring your creative voice into the classroom. Our summer programs are designed to feel like real artist studios—fast-paced, experimental, and inspiring.

Requirements

An art teacher or practicing artist with street art or spray paint experience
Comfortable demonstrating spray paint techniques, stencil work, and mural concepts
Experienced working with middle or high school students
Passionate about helping young artists develop confidence and creative voice
Energetic, encouraging, and student-centered
Excited to bring urban art influences into a studio classroom

Nice To Haves

BFA in Art, Art Education, or related field preferred
Experience teaching middle or high school students
Background in street art, mural painting, or aerosol art techniques strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Lead engaging street art and spray-painting workshops for students in grades 3–12 during our summer session.
Guide students as they explore: • Spray paint techniques and control • Stencil design and layering • Street art lettering and graphic styles • Mural concepts and collaborative work • Color blending, texture, and scale • Contemporary street art influences
Classes are hands-on, energetic, and studio-based, encouraging students to experiment, take creative risks, and develop their own artistic voice.
Teaching schedule may include weekday daytime classes and occasional evenings, making this an ideal summer role for art teachers.
