About The Position

This is a part-time (~15 hours/week), unpaid internship with the opportunity to earn academic credit, depending on your school’s program requirements. Target start date in October 2025. Sam is in high-growth mode, and as a Strategy & Growth MBA Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in shaping our business strategy, refining our go-to-market approach, driving insights that fuel our growth, and supporting a mission-driven team. You’ll work across the business at the intersection of business strategy, product development, market expansion, Expert recruitment, platform intelligence, operations, business development, and strategic partnerships. This role is designed for high-performing MBA students eager to roll up their sleeves, apply MBA-level strategy skills, and make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, purpose-driven startup. As the Strategy & Growth MBA Intern, you’ll support the Head of Strategy & Growth and play a key role in shaping Sam’s trajectory, success, and long-term vision. The internship is both highly strategic and deeply operational, requiring sharp analytical skills, a structured problem-solving approach, and the ability to drive execution in an early-stage, high-velocity environment.

Requirements

  • Current MBA student with a strong background in business strategy, product development, market analysis, recruiting, business intelligence, retail operations, business development, or strategic partnerships.
  • High performer with a track record of excellence in consulting, tech startups, or retail marketplaces.
  • Structured problem-solver with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Confident communicator with strong storytelling abilities, capable of crafting compelling data-driven narratives for key stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive, comfortable working in ambiguity, taking initiative, and executing in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
  • Analytically rigorous with demonstrated experience in market research and data-driven decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, adept at managing multiple projects while collaborating effectively with the team.
  • Curious, empathetic, and user-focused with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and collaborative workflows and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine launch strategies, pricing models, and customer acquisition frameworks.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, white space, and growth opportunities.
  • Leverage platform data, user behavioral insights, and external research to identify high-need categories and life stages for vertical, demographic, geographic, and category expansion.
  • Analyze key business metrics, model revenue projections, and propose growth strategies.
  • Define KPIs and build dashboards to track performance and impact, leveraging tools like Google Analytics.
  • Identify customer needs, formulate target customer personas, design product bundles for life events, iterate on features, and refine value propositions to enhance product-market fit.
  • Develop strategies and roadmaps for brand partnerships, corporate collaborations, and sales channel distribution.
  • Optimize processes for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding Experts onto the Sam platform, while expanding category offerings.
  • Inform strategy for digital marketplace operations, including online-to-offline retail initiatives and marketplace optimization.
