Strategy Director - Hotels.com Hotels.com is one of Expedia Group’s three flagship consumer brands, focused on delivering the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world alongside Expedia and Vrbo. As part of Expedia Group’s global consumer business, the Hotels.com team helps drive growth across our key lines of business, including Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Air, Car, Packages, and Insurtech. We are looking for a Strategy Director to join Hotels.com at Expedia Group to define and operationalize the brand’s go-forward strategy for Business Travel. You will play a critical role in delivering Hotels.com’s growth ambitions, which is one of the largest brands in the Expedia portfolio with a fiercely loyal customer base. You will report to the Hotels.com Head of Strategy & Planning. As an individual contributor, you will play an integral role developing the strategic direction, monitoring financial performance, and closely collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring the Business Travel growth strategy to life.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience, with a combination of the following Business Travel Business strategy: Establish cross-functional plan to bring strategy to life
  • Develop business case leveraging analysis in an ambiguous and fast paced environment
  • Identify and evaluate key market trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Think long-term, anticipate market trends, and adapt to changing business landscapes
  • Launching new business (e.g., entrepreneur, start-up, managed new business / product launch): Demonstrate ability to turn strategy into business results and drive growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new business to life
  • Demonstrate ability to turn strategy into business results and drive growth
  • Own process from inception through market activation
  • Top tier management consulting or Tech company

Responsibilities

  • Own Strategy Development: Play a key role in defining & operationalizing key short, medium, and long-term Business Travel strategic initiatives to improve the consumer performance and competitive positioning
  • Evaluate strategic Business Travel opportunities and develop perspective on implications and actions for the traveler: Monitor the Business Travel ecosystem to identify market trends
  • Identify business / value driver opportunities and risks
  • Frame strategic options, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop clear, data‑backed business cases to drive executive decision‑making
  • Communicate findings to senior stakeholders, build buy-in
  • Own end-to-end process from inception through market activation of prioritized Business Travel strategic initiatives
  • Working with cross-functional stakeholders such as Product & Tech, Marketing, Supply, Pricing, Finance, Analytics
  • Operating with autonomy i.e., independently frame problems, drive alignment, and move work forward with limited oversight, while keeping leadership appropriately involved
  • Financial Planning: Partner with finance on annual financial planning processes
  • Performance Metrics: Regularly evaluate performance against targets against established financial KPIs
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics to drive informed business decisions
  • Global Alignment: Foster consistency and alignment across diverse markets
